how difficult a cancer diagnosis is. Whether someone has family and a strong support system or is facing the challenge alone, cancer most certainly will have an emotional and mental impact. Depression affects approximately 1 in 4 cancer patients, this is a staggering statistic we strongly believe can be reduced or eliminated by supporting financial needs and wellness care for cancer patients, co-survivors, and caregivers.
If you or someone you know needs support to thrive through the journey of survivorship please contact us, we would love to hear from you.
When Dorothy was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, she went through depression while she was in the hospital recovering from her surgery. She wasn't eating, her spirits were down from the pain and the lack of sunlight and naturescape in her room. At one point she said to her husband, "I'm not going to make it out of here." On that cue, he left the room, found a wheel chair, and wheeled her down to the hospitals Atrium where Dorothy was able to feel the warm sun, smell fresh air, and be surrounded by the beautiful greenery of nature. This breathed hope and renewal into Dorothy and gave her energy to keep moving forward.
We want to be that hope and renewal for those affected by cancer, we will be the hand to support the journey of survivorship.
