“When I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, I felt like the rug had been swept out from underneath me.I felt paralyzed, unable to function as a mom, wife, or human being. I worried about work and how I would provide for my family. I came across the Atrium foundation at a time when I was struggling to buy groceries for my kids. We were doing okay but sometimes it was the bare minimum. Thanks to the generous donors of the Atrium foundation, they’ve provided a little extra cushion this holiday season and for that we are extremely grateful. I cannot thank them enough for helping our family at a time of need. I hope that one day I can do the same for another person battling this disease.”

“Feeling a slight pressure in my chest led to the discovery of a mass growing around my aorta.  A biopsy revealed cancer.  The treatment would be twelve weeks of intensive chemotherapy.  Many people recognize the physical and medical challenges a person faces in such a situation.  People are less aware of the financial toll that comes with medical bills and not being able to work.  An already bad situation becomes that much worse.

A friend told me about the Atrium Foundation and the help they offer cancer patients and their caregivers.  I contacted Dorothy Paredes and submitted an application.  Within days I received confirmation that two upcoming bills had been paid for me amounting to $500.00.  In addition, my mother (who was helping take care of me during the treatments) also received $500.00 in paid bills!  Such a generous and timely gesture made a very difficult time a little less difficult.  I am grateful that there were people who not only cared, but also took action to make my life easier as I endured chemotherapy.  I hope others will support the Atrium Foundation as the foundation continues to support cancer patients and those who care for them.  Thank you Atrium Foundation!”

"The Atrium Foundation was a blessing sent from above. I’m extremely thankful to Dorothy and her team for taking the time to listen and help my family. Last year I was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer. I didn’t feel prepared for any of this, I’m quite a strong person but this tested me.

My world came crashing down when they told me they found cervical cancer. I lost a-lot, sometimes I even think I’ve lost my self. I’m not the same. I will try to continue to strive for my kids and be strong for my little sister who’s currently struggling with ovarian cancer.

I hope cancer never comes back, I’m all my kids have.

Thank you to all the great people who donated to this wonderful foundation. One day I Will give back to another mommy in need.”

As a single father of four children, one can only imagine the struggles that exists to provide a stable environment for my children while continuing to work and be of service to others within my community. Unfortunately October 2023, my life would again have another obstacle to tackle with a diagnosis with recurrent myxoid fibrosarcoma  after receiving from surgery less than a year prior.  Meeting with Dorothy and having someone who stared a similar experience to myself  allowed me to be seen and heard. I was truly privileged and honored to have been awarded assistance from the Atrium Foundation. As a result, I was to focus on time with my love ones and continue my healing process as I undergo treatment.

Thank you so much Dorothy and Atrium Foundation for the amazing work you do. You have been a God send to me, my family, and so many others.

Thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart.”

Since I was diagnosed with MDS, I felt the need to learn for what this was happening to me and not why it was happening to me. The solution is a bone marrow transplant that I was able to get thanks to the fact that my 18-year-old daughter is my donor. With that attitude, I searched and found a wide variety of help, angels who are helping people like me who need support in these hard, difficult but not impossible times. The diagnosis made me stop working, due to the various and constant medical appointments at all hours and at any time, many co-payment expenses, gasoline, food and of course, the taxes that must be paid. But the priority is my recovery and if that means being at the doctor all week, then it has to be done. It is not easy but with the right help and support everything can be overcome. You should never lower your arms. At Atrium I found not only financial help, I felt listened to and that I am not alone in this fight.

Regarding the help they have given me, it was a very quick and simple process, Dorothy made everything very pleasant. I thank The Atrium Foundation and its entire team not only for the financial help they provided me very quickly, but also for the emotional support I felt and feel from them. I hope more people can have the blessing of crossing paths with angels like the people who make up the Atrium team.

This path is not easy but with the right people and the right support, everything is better. Don't ask yourself "why do I?", understand that everything happens for a reason and ask yourself "why is this happening to me, what will I learn?" I wish you lots of health, love and peace and THANK YOU ATRIUM for being there.”

I would like to thank you and Atrium foundation for for your generosity and all the hard work you all put into, to make this happen. We receive the EHB card. This is definitely a big blessing during these days.

My family and I pray that God continues blessing this foundation and each one of you for the exceptional work you all do for people who are going through hard times.

At the same, with so much sadness in my heart, I want to share with you that my mother had passed away a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been out of town and I’m now back to face this new chapter of my life without mom. It’s definitely one of the hardest times of my life so I thank God for people like you. Thank you for all your support.

God bless each one oh you. 🙏🏼❤️
